Hey folks! Good to see you back. Today's blog is a little different from the usual technical content. I’ll be sharing my experience as a solo developer in the HackFrost Hackathon, organized by WeMakeDevs.
So, In the Hackathon, Everyone had 2-3 days to create and submit their projects based on different tracks, each offering unique prizes. As a solo dev, it was initially a bit overwhelming to come up with a strong idea in such a competitive environment. There were so many tracks to choose from, but I ultimately decided on sustainability. Why sustainability, you ask? Well, to be honest, I initially aimed for other tracks but struggled to set up Kestra (Sponsors of HackFrost) within the timeline. I promise, though—I’ll definitely create a great project using Kestra in the future!
What did I build ? 🤔
In the hackathon, I chose sustainability as my track. After brainstorming numerous ideas, I eventually created “GreenPulse“, an application designed to empower users in protecting the environment. It enables you to track your carbon footprint, interact with a friendly AI that answers your questions about the environment, and connect with like-minded communities dedicated to sustainability.

Idea and Execution 🙂‍↔️
I spent the initial hours brainstorming and sketching out the concept, mapping out the features that needed in the application. After figuring out all that , I dove into building the application. With the groundwork laid, I moved on to the coding phase, where I developed the application, tackled bugs, added features, and worked on building UI for the application.
Below is a small piece of the paperwork I created while designing “GreenPulse”.
Conclusion 🥳
Lastly, a heartfelt thanks to WeMakeDevs and , Kunal Kushwaha for this opportunity.
It was an incredible experience that allowed me to challenge myself and grow as a developer. To my blog readers, I hope my journey inspires you to embrace similar challenges. From this solo experience, I learned the importance of planning, perseverance, and celebrating small wins along the way. Thank you for following my journey. Stay tuned!!
